These new in the display case revolvers are unfired and unturned. These 1860 Army revolvers commemorate the 200th anniversary of the US cavalry 1777-1977. The set includes two 1860 Army black powder revolvers in 44 calibre. Each has a case hardened receiver and loading lever and brass trigger-guard. The barrel, cylinder and back-strap are blue. The un-fluted cylinder is roll engraved with the Naval battle scene which reads "ENGAGED 16 MAY 1843". The eight inch barrel reads United States Cavalry Commemorative; MSH inspector mark on each grip panel. The set includes the following accessories: powder flask, bullet mold, nipple wrench, and cap can, one piece walnut stock with brass butt plate, serial number US1718. Each gun shares the same number 1718, one gun is serial #1718US, the other is serial #US1718. No literature, what you see in the picture is what you get…… only 3000 sets were made in 1977 and comes with a beautiful American walnut wooden trunk case with blue velvet liner that makes an attractive display. The outside of the display case lid has a brass plaque with a cavalryman and the inscription "UNITED STATES CAVALRY COMMEMORATIVE 1777-1977" *** The last picture is the information contained on page 181 of THE COLT COMMEMORATIVES 1961-1986 by Ken Condry and Larry Jones *** ******......
